Cenote Xkeken near Valladolid
Millions of years ago oceans covered the Yucatan peninsula until the end of the last ice age when the waters descended approximately 250 feet. The limestone caves were exposed and some of them collapsed. But the ones that did not, started filtering rainfall water and with the help of time created stalactites and stalagmites. Eventually some parts of this caverns collapsed letting the sunlight create the most incredible reflections and shapes within.
